Privacy policy

A plain-language description of what Space Ranger stores locally and sends for license checks.

Information the app stores on your Mac

Your Space names and colors are stored only on your Mac. Space Ranger uses macOS Accessibility to read the titles and positions of desktop thumbnails in Mission Control. It does not read the contents of your windows. Diagnostic logs are stored locally in ~/Library/Logs/Space Ranger and are never sent automatically.

License checks

When you activate or validate a Polar license, the app sends the license key, activation ID, app version, and a label containing your Mac model and macOS version. It does not send Space names, window titles, analytics, or usage tracking. Polar processes these requests as our payment and license provider and, as with any internet request, can see your IP address.

The website

This static website does not set cookies or include analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare hosts the site and may process standard request data needed to deliver and protect it.

Payments

Polar is the payment processor and merchant of record for purchases. Payment details are handled by Polar. Read Polar’s privacy policy.
